- Consult all staff for energy saving ideas, especially people 'at the coal face'
- Consult internal engineering sources for projects already in place
- Research any existing energy audits and other reports and list all recommendations. Review these for relevant projects that can be included in your plan
- Arrange for new audits or studies
- Check with equipment suppliers about energy efficient options for existing equipment.
