On 1 October 2005 Sustainable Energy Authority Victoria and EcoRecycle Victoria joined forces to become Sustainability Victoria.

Sustainability Victoria will act as a catalyst for change by

  • providing a vehicle to support the tangible delivery of the Government's Framework for Environmental Sustainablity;
  • focusing on changing behaviour by providing advice and assistance to inform decision making by individuals, businesses, governments and communities to act in a more environmentally sustainable way
  • facilitating innovation by supporting the development and applicaton of technologies and processes to produce changes that may not otherwise garner support.
  • developing and training an energy management team
  • adopting energy efficient best practice measures in new buildings and fitouts
  • purchasing energy efficient office equipment and appliances.

We also provide

  • energy audits and seed funding
  • an electronic database for accurate reporting and monitoring and tracking energy consumption;
  • training and seminars on energy management including Government Energy Managers Network (GEMnet) meetings, seminars, workshops and programmed training
  • - Building Energy Brief (pdf) to facilitate new construction and fitouts
  • the Building Greenhouse Rating Scheme.
  • staff awareness programs tailored for departments or agency.
