Page 1 of 2 Departments and agencies are to report annually to Sustainability Victoria. This report will provide total building energy use and related greenhouse gas emissions, staff numbers and floor areas of each facility within the department and agency. The Energy Data Gathering and Reporting (EDGAR) software tool is to be used for internal reporting within agencies and for compiling whole-of-government reports. All departments and agencies are required to report this way for consistent and uniform reporting. Sustainability Victoria will consolidate these reports and provide Ministers with an annual report on the implementation across government of the 15% energy reduction target and the 10% Green Power purchase target . This report will form the basis of an annual whole-of-government public report. Major variations due to changes in department or agency activity will also be noted and briefly explained. Where a branch or unit of a department is reorganised under another department during any part of one year, the energy use will be reported by the second department in the reporting period as if that branch/unit had been in the department for the full year. Consistent reporting methods are required for accuracy across departments and agencies over a period of time. There is particular potential for confusion around tenancy arrangements.
